Post-dated cheques

Cheques dated in the future, on both sides.

Banking → Cheques (PDC) holds cheques dated ahead: ones you have received and ones you have written.

A cheque received is recorded when it arrives, into a clearing account rather than the bank, so the customer’s balance is settled while the money is not yet there. On the due date it clears into the bank.

The same applies to cheques you write, on the other side.
