Your books, your POS, your store.
One truth.

Real double-entry accounting and bookkeeping for small and medium businesses: running at the speed of a local app, invoicing in any currency and in two languages, and never letting your reports disagree with your shop floor.

Your first year is free. Nothing to install: runs in your browser, online or offline. Sign up in a minute. No credit card.
Multi-currency: dated rates & revaluation Bilingual invoices: English & Arabic Tax invoices with a QR code, ZATCA-ready Offline-fast: every click is instant

Everything a real business needs. Nothing bolted on.

Not modules from different vendors taped together: one system where every screen reads the same records.

📒 True double-entry books

Invoices, bills, bank reconciliation and transaction matching, VAT, multi-currency, general ledger, 34 reports: including profit and loss by branch, so a business with more than one shop can see which one earned it: and any report you set up can be saved and reopened in one click. The journal entry is visible behind every document.

🛒 A POS that IS the books

Scan-first point of sale that installs on any device: iPad, Android or Windows: straight from the browser. Every sale posts itself the moment it happens.

📦 Serious inventory

Weighted-average or FIFO costing with landed cost inside, kits & assemblies, multi-branch stock, transfers, item requests, counts by scanner.

🧾 Paperwork that passes

Tax invoices with a QR code, bilingual English and Arabic documents, country presets you can set to your own rules, thermal receipts, delivery notes, price tag printing.

👥 Payroll & people

Salaries, leave, overtime and a configurable end-of-service formula: plus post-dated cheques managed from receipt to clearing.

☁️ Your books, everywhere

Sign in from any device and your books are there: the owner watches sales live from anywhere, while daily checkpoints and a tamper-evident history keep every record honest.

Everything is included. There is no higher plan.

Elsewhere, multiple locations and batch tracking wait on a higher tier, purchase-order matching is an add-on, and inventory, approvals and revenue recognition are what the next plan up is for. This is the whole list, and everyone who has Elvira has all of it.

under development marks the few things still being built. Everything else works today.

Sales 11

  • Invoices, estimates and sales orders
  • Sales receipts and open orders
  • Credit memos and customer refunds
  • Payments received, part-paid and on account: accounts receivable that ties out
  • Statements: print, email, or send as a WhatsApp message
  • It chases late payers by email on its own, once you switch it on

Revenue recognition IFRS 15

  • Defer a sale, recognise it across its term
  • Daily, evenly, or prorated at both ends
  • Rules you set once, applied per item or per line
  • Delete a schedule and the recognitions come back out
  • Construction contracts on percentage of completion under development
  • Milestones, contract assets and liabilities under development

Purchases 9

  • Purchase orders, bills and expenses
  • Bill payments and vendor credits: accounts payable in one place
  • Refunds from vendors
  • Goods received and goods in transit
  • Landed cost: five allocation methods, from any bill
  • Prepaid expenses, released month by month

Inventory 14

  • Weighted average or FIFO, switchable
  • Kits, assemblies and recipes
  • Production runs: components become finished stock at cost
  • Multiple locations, transfers, item requests
  • Stock counts, adjustments and issues
  • Batches and expiry, with warning before they lapse
  • Price lists with volume breaks

Slow-moving stock provision

  • Target by stock age, or by coverage: months on hand against sales
  • Age counts from when it last went out, not when it arrived
  • A run adjusts to target and books the difference
  • Every item says why: its age, its rate, its provision

Units, packs & barcodes

  • Many units per item: piece, pack, carton, pallet
  • A different barcode on every unit: scan a carton, it sells as a carton
  • Parent and child items, with the pack factor between them
  • Turn a child into a pack of its parent and the stock moves across
  • Weighed-item scale codes
  • Import a whole catalogue of parents and packs from one sheet

Labels & price tags

  • Barcode labels on A4, 65 to a page
  • Or a 40×25mm thermal roll
  • Shelf labels and price tags
  • Prints whatever the list is showing: filter, then print
  • Asset tags too, in three sizes

Serial numbers & warranty

  • A register of every serial, in and out
  • Type a serial, get the answer: who bought it, when, is it covered
  • Warranty status: active, expiring, expired
  • Filter the whole register by warranty state
  • A warranty report you can hand to a service desk

Point of sale included

  • Scan-first selling, weighed items, combo boxes
  • Shifts, float and Z reports
  • Returns, waste, counts and stock requests
  • Cashier PINs and supervisor approval
  • Thermal receipts, cash drawer opens on cash
  • Keeps selling with the internet down, then catches up
  • Set up in about a minute. Install it and it shows a short code
  • The owner claims that code from anywhere: no site visit, no config file
  • Revoke a POS remotely and it stops selling
  • Every sale lands in the books as it happens

Banking 4

  • Bank transaction matching: import a statement and it finds them
  • Rules that categorise money in and money out
  • It remembers how you treated a payee last time
  • Bank reconciliation that locks what it reconciles
  • Post-dated cheques: receipt to clearing, both sides

Credit control & bad debts IFRS 9 simplified

  • Two routes: your own aging matrix, or ECL simplified
  • Loss rates come from your own payment history, not a guess
  • A forward-looking factor you set, with your reason
  • A run adjusts to target and books the difference
  • Write off from the invoice; recoveries if they pay after all

Contacts

  • One contact can be customer, supplier, lessor and lender at once
  • Link a customer to a supplier: the same firm, one record, netted
  • Their whole history on one screen
  • Merge duplicates without losing either side's history
  • Opening balances both ways

Projects & job costing

  • Cost and revenue posted per project, per line
  • Profitability: billed, cost, margin, live
  • Budget with percent used
  • Time entries at a charge rate and a cost rate
  • Unbilled items, ready to invoice
  • Project stages and status

People 6

  • Employees, departments and pay runs
  • Leave with policies and public holidays
  • Overtime: evening, night, weekend, holiday rates
  • End of service on a formula you configure
  • Advances, recovered from pay

Fixed assets IAS 16

  • Straight line, reducing balance, units of production
  • Revised lives and residuals: IAS 8, applied forward
  • Disposals, write-offs, part-year runs
  • Register, schedule and depreciation reports
  • Print a barcode label for every asset, in three sizes
  • Count them by scanning: any phone or scanner reads it
  • See what is found and what is missing as you go
  • Stop halfway and come back: the count is saved
  • Each asset keeps a record of every count it was in
  • Counting posts nothing to the books on its own

Loans, leases & investments

  • Loans: amortisation schedule, interest split from principal
  • Lenders and lessors as contacts in their own right
  • Leases: full IFRS 16, and ordinary rent
  • Investments: IFRS 9 FVTPL, FVOCI, amortised cost
  • Bonds and sukuk on the effective-interest method, with the schedule
  • Equity method and investment property

Recurring transactions

  • Invoices, bills, expenses and journal entries, on a template
  • Daily to yearly, times any interval: every 2 weeks, every 3 months
  • Stop on a date, or after a set number of runs
  • A due queue: run one, or run them all
  • Or let it create them on its own when the app opens
  • What each one is worth a month, whatever its frequency
  • A foreign-currency template stays in its own currency, re-rated each run

Accounting 10

  • Chart of accounts and a general ledger: the journal behind every document
  • Budgets, by account and by period
  • Cash-flow forecast
  • Sales tax, and multi-currency on dated rates
  • Revaluation, with realised and unrealised gain and loss
  • Activity log, attachments, period close

Reports 31

  • Financial reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance
  • Comparative columns: this period against last
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable aging, project profitability
  • Inventory valuation, landed cost, asset schedules
  • Every one on accrual or cash basis
  • Click any figure and land on the document behind it
  • Excel with live formulas, or print

It tells you when something is wrong

  • Needs your attention: everything a human must look at, in one list
  • A bell carrying the count, on every screen
  • Books health check: run it and it names what is off
  • Diagnostics for any record that would not load
  • Warnings before you save, not after
  • Every part of the app reports into that one list

Bulk work

  • Tick rows on any list, then act on all of them at once
  • Set one field across the lot: account, payee, date, class
  • Bulk print, bulk void, bulk delete
  • Type ten expenses on one screen and save once
  • Import from a spreadsheet, mapping your columns to ours
  • It shows what will go in and what cannot: before it writes anything
  • Download the rows it could not take, fix them, import again
  • Items with their packs and barcodes from one sheet: recipes too
  • Assets, journals, bills, expenses, invoices, contacts
  • Export anything you can see to Excel or CSV

Wherever you invoice

  • Any currency, on dated rates, with revaluation
  • Bilingual invoices, English and Arabic
  • Tax invoices with a QR code, ZATCA-ready
  • Country presets you can set to your own tax rules
  • Two decimals or three: currencies that use them work properly
Leases under IFRS 16, end-of-service, investments, stock provisions and an asset count you do by scanning are not things small-business accounting normally carries - on any tier.

And a point of sale that is not a separate app, but the books themselves, is rarer still.

This is the actual product.

Not a mock-up. Ten real screens on a sample company, with figures that add up. Click any of them to see it full size.

The dashboard, with a Needs your attention list naming overdue invoices, past-due bills, budgets at their limit and loan and lease payments due.
It opens by telling you what needs you. Overdue invoices, bills past their date, budgets at their limit, payments due: every part of the app reports into that one list.
Landed costs, warning that 1,850 dollars of freight and duty has not reached the goods it belongs to, with the clearing account agreeing with the unallocated figure.
It knows when your stock is undervalued. Freight sitting in a clearing account instead of in the cost of the goods: named, aged, and one click from being put right.
The serial register: five machines, three in stock and two sold, each with supplier, customer, invoice and warranty status.
Type a serial, get the answer. Who supplied it, who bought it, on which invoice, and whether it is still under warranty.
The point of sale: a cart with five items totalling KD 4.500, the product grid beside it, and Pay, Hold and On account under the total.
A POS that IS the books. Scan or tap, take cash, KNET or card, and the sale is in the accounts before the receipt finishes printing: no end-of-day export, and no second system to reconcile against. See the POS →
The leases register: liability of 46,702 marked Matching, right-of-use carrying value, depreciation fully trued up, and three leases.
Leases under IFRS 16, carrying a right-of-use asset and a discounted liability: and the books agreeing with the register, which is what Matching means.
Stock provisions: a target of 1,540 dollars, an age-bucket matrix, and one item flagged with the reason never moved out at 100 percent.
Every item says why. Stock that has not moved, its age, the rate applied and the provision it carries: here, one line reading never moved out.
Goods received: 1,475 dollars in transit across two containers, one part received, and a tile reading Difference 0.00, register agrees with the ledger.
It checks itself. Stock still at sea, against the account holding its cost. When the two agree it says so.
Bad debts: an aging matrix with a rate per bucket, a target allowance and the adjustment needed to reach it.
Bad debts, the way the standard asks. Your own rate per aging bucket: or rates worked out from your own payment history: and a run that books only the difference.
The fixed asset register: five assets on straight line and declining balance, with cost, depreciation and book value, and a Physical count tab.
Assets, with the count built in. Straight line or reducing balance, book value as at any date: and a physical count you do by scanning.
A bond amortisation schedule: six periods of opening balance, interest income, coupon, amortisation and closing balance, ending at par.
Bonds on the effective-interest method. Every period from opening to closing, the discount accreting, and the carrying amount landing exactly on par at maturity.
Investments grouped by IFRS 9 classification: fair value through profit or loss, through OCI, amortised cost and an associate held at equity.
Investments, classified properly. Fair value through profit or loss, through OCI, amortised cost, and an associate carried at equity: each with its own treatment.

“Why doesn't my report match my register?”: never again.

Other systems sync a shop app to an accounting app and hope. In Elvira there is nothing to sync: the POS, the reports and the ledger are three views of the same record. They agree because they are one: which is what makes the figures accurate enough to make decisions from.

Ask us anything: and tell us what is missing.

A question about your own books, a feature you need, or whether this fits how you work. It reaches a person, and we answer.

Elvira is young, and that is worth something to you. There is no roadmap decided a year ago by people who will never meet you. Your message reaches the person who writes the code, and what gets asked for is what gets built next.

So the most useful thing you can send is not praise. It is “this is wrong for how my shop works”, or “I needed X and could not find it”, or the thing you gave up on. That is the message that changes the product.

Try it: the first year is free and there is no card: and then tell us what you found. There is a Send feedback button in the app as well, at the foot of the sidebar, and every message is read.

The parts worth reading about

The things most small-business accounting leaves to a spreadsheet.
